Katarina Marinčič : Trois
Podrobnosti knjige
The book O treh (Three) combines three novellas about three men from three different historical periods and geographical regions. Alongside the story of the Etruscan Vel Matuna are also stories about the Belgian illustrator Pierre-Joseph Redouté (a real historical figure) and the story of the visually impaired Zlatko from Litija who, in the desire to once again see, sets off for America. It is precisely the motif of blindness or seeing that, in these three variations, creates the deeper connection between what at first appear to be rather different stories. Although Katarina Marinčič is primarily a novelist, a closer reading of her works shows that Three – for which she received the 2007 Fabula Prize for the best short story collection – is a crystallization of her poetics.
